"I started yoga 18 months ago with Beth at the age of 68 with a background history of over thirty years on medication for hypertension and on a cocktail of three drugs. After only a few months of very enjoyable classes just once a week, I discovered that my blood pressure seemed to have dropped. I monitored it carefully and this was, in fact, the case. After a visit to my GP to confirm this, I was taken firstly off one medication and a little later a second medication was stopped. I cannot say for certain if this drop in my blood pressure is purely as a result of the yoga but it makes you think"

I count myself as being truly fortunate that I’ve been able to find a yoga teacher with such a generosity of spirit and who ‘lives’ the yoga she teaches.

"THANK YOU ! It was wonderful to be back in class and I used the breathing concentration exercise when I got into bed last night. I fell asleep and didn’t wake til the alarm went off – which considering I have been managing only 4 hours a night for the past few weeks – is a miracle. BLISS"

Yoga always helps me mentally relax and connect with myself, as well as the obvious physical benefits. Starting sessions with Beth has helped me be a calmer more focused person and continue on a path to be the best I can be

Beth’s restorative yoga classes on a Sunday have been the icing on the cake for me (and she provides cake too). It has felt like an indulgence… to restore my body and mind and the lasting effect of tranquillity, peace and relaxation keeps me going well into the week

Beth’s classes are excellent for both mind and body, meditative and strengthening at the same time. I always feel great afterwards

"Yoga with Beth is enjoyable, educational and very progressive; I first attended Beth’s class after suffering from back problems and was recommended via my wife, after the first lesson I was hooked and have been attending ever since. Yoga has changed the way I view my body and the way it moves, you really do become more aware and those old aches and pains in morning have disappeared!"

For me, Beth’s yoga classes opens your mind and heart to live a life you love

"I went along to Beth’s yoga class as a complete beginner and was made to feel very welcome. My aim was to improve my posture and relax more as I work in IT and have always had neck and shoulder pain due to long hours sat at a computer. After the first session my neck and shoulder pain completely disappeared which totally threw me as I was not expecting that at all! I am now reluctant to miss a session and am completely hooked if only for the pain-free result! I am still taken aback at this weeks later and am so pleased that I joined this friendly class. Beth is an amazing teacher, so very patient and willing to accommodate all levels and abilities: if I can do it then anyone can!"

"My friend said that I ‘needed’ to join Beth’s Yoga classes about three year’s ago when I was in a sorry state, very stressed and my blood pressure was sky high! To start with I found Beth’s class to be quite challenging, not helped by having had an operation to repair tearing all the ligaments in my right knee 30 years ago. Now, I feel a new person, I can kneel, touch my toes, have much more core strength, and physical tasks are not so much of a challenge. If I do find something quite testing, I breathe, tone tummy or pelvic muscles and get on with the job! If I can’t sleep for whatever reason, I use some of Beth’s breathing exercises, and they usually work!"

I have been attending yoga classes with Beth’s since January 2008. At the time I had chronic back pain, and chose not to sit as it made me uncomfortable. Beth’s classes are wonderful on many levels. She is a fantastic teacher, showing the whole class how to move from one position to another, effortlessly talking us through each posture whilst she demonstrates how it can be done with grace. If you cannot achieve a certain position Beth will find ways to adapt the posture that achieves the same goals, without making you experience a sense of failure. An important part of my yoga with Beth, is the fun! We laugh a lot in our classes and whatever frame of mind you arrive in, you leave with a feeling of warmth and a sense of peace. I no longer have chronic back pain. Beth has taught me how to use my core muscles and as I have a physical life style (I have a small holding) this is an extra bonus. I can continue to live the life I choose without nearly as many injuries!

I started yoga with Beth in January 2016 as a complete novice and in terrible pain in my lower back and left hip. I was being seen at the pain clinic and by a physio and was having weekly sessions at the chiropractor, but my busy life style and dedication to the work I do meant that my health was always put last. I was so anxious the first time I attended class not knowing if I could do any of the exercises. Beth’s professional but friendly and welcoming manner meant that I settled in so quickly. Beth listened to my fears and concerns and always suggested different ways of doing a stretch or pose so that everyone could achieve it. She is always more than willing to suggest exercises that will help and will include it in her routine for the session. Since starting yoga with Beth, I have almost been pain free most days with the odd flair up due to stress or because I have not been able to attend class. I feel so much more relaxed, and I look forward to having some “me” time, where I look after my body, focus on my breathing and heal. Beth’s restoration classes on a Sunday have been the icing on the cake for me (and she provides cake too). It has felt like an indulgence… to restore my body and mind and the lasting effect of tranquillity, peace and relaxation keeps me going well into the week. I cannot recommend Beth’s yoga classes more highly. I am truly grateful to her for her advice and support and look forward to continuing my yoga journey

"I just want to say thank you Beth. Having a bit of a rubbish week but feel so much better after class today. You are amazing and make a real difference to the happiness and well being of others"

I’ve been a student at Beth’s yoga classes for about 12 years and although I’ve attended various other yoga classes and workshops during that time what always stands out about Beth’s teaching is her passion for yoga and her enthusiasm for the subject. What I’m continually amazed by is that Beth never seems to rest on her laurels and is always coming to class with new things that she’s learnt herself, either about the asana’s, meditation or the philosophy of yoga, and as a result truly inspires her students. Beth has a great natural teaching style and combined with her years of experience is always ready to offer alternatives to postures if injury or physical limitations restrict what one is capable of. As a result I’ve always felt as though I’m in totally safe hands and therefore feel that with each class I can truly just relax and focus on the inner journey. I count myself as being truly fortunate that I’ve been able to find a yoga teacher with such a generosity of spirit and who ‘lives’ the yoga she teaches.

I cannot recommend Beth and Be Yoga highly enough, the classes have literally been a life saver to me over the last year when life and work have become increasingly busy and stressful. Having time and space to just stop and breathe and listen to Beth’s calming voice and wise words are like a tonic for life’s busyness. Thank you so much Beth, you are amazing
